VÆRST was a Danish artist collective active during the 1980s. The group developed out of the experimental studio community Værkstedet Værst in Copenhagen, which existed from 1981 to 1984 and brought together a number of young artists working outside the structures of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. After the workshop closed, several of the artists continued collaborating through performative actions and staged works under the name VÆRST.

Artists associated with the group included Michael Kvium, Christian Lemmerz and Sonny Tronborg, among others. Their activities combined performance, photography and video, often using staged situations that were documented through photographic series or filmed performances.
